Guest on Katie Lance's #CoffeeWithKatie Webinar: How to Write Better Captions
I was SO excited when Katie Lance invited me to be a guest on her #CoffeeWithKatie webinar!
Katie Lance is a social media strategist, speaker, and author of #GetSocialSmart. She's been working in real estate marketing for years and is the founder of Katie Lance Consulting, where she helps real estate professionals get smarter about social media and use it to connect with their audiences. You may have seen her speak at Inman (or on other stages across the country) or have been a member of her #GetSocialSmart Academy.
Katie has also been such an incredible supporter of me and my business for years now. She's always so generous with sharing her knowledge, I've learned so much from her, and on top of all that, she's just a kind person. I'm truly lucky to know her! β€οΈ
So when she invited me to join her to talk about writing social media captions, of course I said YES!
Let's Talk About Writing Better Social Media Captions!
Our session was titled "How to Write Better Captions for Social Media Posts," and we got real nerdy about writing for social media. π€π
We covered a lot of ground, talking about everything from the power of storytelling in your marketing to using AI to your advantage.
One of the things I love about this topic is how much opportunity there is to get creative with your writing. Social media captions should not be an afterthought. They're an opportunity to tell stories, share your personality, and connect with the people you want to reach.
And this goes WAY beyond social media!
Writing Is a HUGE Part of Real Estate Marketing
Many Realtors don't realize just how much writing is actually involved in marketing their real estate business.
Your website (which of course including blog posts), social media captions, email newsletters, print marketing materials, and even scripts for videos all require some type of creative writing.
The awesome thing about investing the time and effort into writing thoughtful social media captions is that you can often repurpose that content across many different platforms. A great caption might become the starting point for a blog post, part of an email newsletter, or inspiration for another piece of marketing content.
You don't necessarily have to reinvent the wheel every time you sit down to create something new!
And whether you're writing everything yourself or using AI to help with the process, I think it's so important that your writing still sounds like you.
A Little Creativity Goes a Long Way
If there's one thing I hope everyone took away from our conversation, it's that writing great social media captions doesn't have to be complicated. A little creativity, some thoughtful storytelling, and letting your personality shine through can make such a difference in your marketing.
Katie shared this sweet comment after our session, and it honestly meant so much to me!
Here's to more great conversations, creative ideas, and social media content that actually sounds like YOU! π
